Finally, after ten years without a live action Star Wars movie, 2015 will see Star Wars: The Force Awakens – and that means new Star Wars Halloween costumes! This year’s costumes are fun, new, and leave room for creativity.
The most fun Star Wars Halloween costumes have always included Stormtroopers, and this year is no different. There are many different kinds of Stormtroopers, so you get to pick the one that best fits your personality. The classic Flametrooper costume comes with a mask and a printed jumpsuit with boot covers. This costume is only available in kids sizes.
The super deluxe Flametrooper costume includes a foam padded jumpsuit with shoe covers, two-piece helmet, and a blaster. The helmet for the Flametrooper costume is a new model we haven’t seen yet, but it looks like a cross between a storm trooper helmet and RoboCop. Neither of these costumes include boots or gloves, but if you utilize the shoe covers, you won’t need to worry about the shoes.
White boots can be bought separately if you want to add depth and texture to the costume. White gloves will work, or there are some official Flametrooper gloves for kids that match the costume perfectly.
If you’re looking for a more classic look, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Stormtrooper Halloween costume sports the classic helmet, foam padded jumpsuit with shoe covers, and belt. Like the previous Stormtrooper costumes, the shoe covers can be covered with real boots and official gloves are available to enhance the look. For a more complete costume, a Blaster is available for a reasonable price. A voice changer can make the transformation complete and add extra fun to Halloween!
Not much is known about the new characters of The Force Awakens, but we do know that Rey is one of the good guys who can stand up to the new villains called the first order. The classic Rey costume includes a printed jumpsuit with attached crisscross sash, belt, and detached sleeves. This costume is only available in kids sizes.
The Star Wars Deluxe Rey Halloween costume for women and girls includes a separate top with a more three-dimensional sash, pants, belt with pouch, detached sleeves and left wrist cuff. Boots are not included with any Rey costume, but in the movie she will wear dark brown to black boots that are sold separately. There is also a head wrap that she will wear in the movie sold separately with functional goggles. Rey won’t carry a lightsaber, but her staff is also available to complete the look.
Rey isn’t the only strong woman featured in the new Star Wars film. Sabine is part of the new rebels fighting the Empire. Her costume includes a printed jumpsuit with shoe covers, belt, and mask. Her signature blue and yellow hair isn’t easy to find in wig form, but one could be fashioned out of a blue wig and yellow hair extensions. Black boots could also add depth to the costume.
Not much is known about Finn, who appeared in the first Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser, but his Star Wars Halloween costume sure looks cool. It comes with a shirt and attached jacket and pants with shoe covers. If you want to add to the costume, grey tennis shoes or black combat boots would do the trick, though we’re not quite sure what shoes he’ll wear in the movie. As a former Stormtrooper, Finn might also need a blaster to complete the outfit.
Captin Phasma Costumes
With every new movie, there must come new villains. Captain Phasma is a fearsome presence in the new movie and leads an army of stormtroopers. The classic Star Wars Halloween costume for Captain Phasma comes with a printed jumpsuit with boot covers, mask, and a cape. This costume is only available in kids sizes.
The super deluxe Captain Phasma costume includes a padded jumpsuit with shoe covers and a belt, along with a nicer helmet. None of the Captain Phasma costumes include gloves, but they are sold separately. Captain Phasma carries a blaster, rather than a lightsaber, which is available to buy separately.
Kylo Ren Costumes
Phasma isn’t the only new villain in town. Kylo Ren, like Darths Maul and Vader before him, is the best-dressed villain in the film. The classic Kylo Ren Star Wars Halloween costume comes with a hooded cape, belt, and mask. This costume is only available in kids sizes and does not include boots or pants. The deluxe Kylo Ren costume has more texture and includes a robe, hooded cape, belt, and mask. Kylo Ren carries a lightsaber with hilt, which is available to complete the look. You’ll also need black boots, which are sold separately.
Costumes for Toddlers
Toddlers can get in on the new Star Wars fun too. One of the most beloved characters of all time is the backwards-talking Yoda. The Yoda Star Wars Halloween costume for toddlers includes a hooded robe with a Yoda ear headpiece. Though it is from Star Wars Rebels instead of The Force Awakens, Chopper is an adorable droid similar to R2D2. The Chopper costume consists of a jumpsuit with shoe covers and gloves.
From adults to toddlers, Star Wars fans can be found in any age group. With all the hype surrounding the new movie, a Star Wars Halloween costume will be the life of the party this year.
